Macau September GGR increases 166% year-on-year

Macau reported gamble gross revenue MOP$5.88bn (US$733m) for September 2021, a 166% annual increase.

The profile from the Macau Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has been released.

The total will also be increased by 32% since August 2021, with MOP$4.44bn GGR million. It is the second-lowest 2021, above the highest of August alone. The past two months have been particularly low due to issues with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

August saw Covid’s intended lead to a sharp dip in tourism, when visits to the mainland city of Macau dropped in September, after Zhuhai in Guangdong province bordering on Zhuhai in Guangdong wraps up 14 days for the ramifications of travel from the region.

GGR reached MOP$18.76bn in the third quarter of 2021, a 26% decline from the second quarter of 2021, while GGR MOP was $25.39bn.

And GGR for the year to 30 September now stands at MOP$67.79bn, up 76% from the same period in 2020, with GGR million MOP$38.61bn.

May’s total MOP$10.45bn stands as the 2021 strongest month in terms of GGR.

Although year-over-month and year-over-month increases, GGR continues to be significantly impacted by Covid-19 matches, which are looking into further problems for the Golden Week, which runs from 1-7 to October this year.
